Native Public Media’s signature Media Excellence Program was designed to help bridge the media and digital divides in Indian Country. The program included the Annual Native Media Summit, the Digital Journalism and Storytelling Intensive, Station Services and the Native Media Landscape Report.
NPM understands that progressive policies and regulations that encourage the expansion and strengthening of Native public media through mediums and platforms that are truly community-based, local, and democratic are critical to Indian Country. With a proactive program of policy analysis, representation and education, NPM works to secure a voice for Native America among policy-making bodies and among the media democracy movement, promoting greater access and larger audiences for Native American voices. NPM's Policy Program currently consists of four projects: Communications Scholarship, FCC Filings, NCAI Communications & Telecommunications Resolutions and the Tribal Telecom Conference.
